No other book is available for this product, it worked well for my project. even though some editing from previous version got carried over , so you have to connect the dots, which is not difficult, so the writer should have taken care of this when putting this version out for 10.2 version

This is part one of the story. Again like so many of these stories you probably know where its going but I still liked it and I read every word. I would also recommend reading part two of this story. I think it is worth it and glad I made the purchase.

It's OK for a high school book

There is nothing wrong with the content in this book -- if you only want a cursory overview of the subject. But I wanted more depth of information. This book is well done, but maybe a future revision can add some real meat to the bones of what could be a very fine book on the most promising renewable energy technologies. Although this book is endorsed and marketed by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), it really isn't professional level information. This book is written more like various articles from Popular Science magazine than a professional reference or textbook.

Good for beginners, but not for seasoned professionals

This book tries to address all Distributed Generation sources under one cover only in a handful of pages. It is introductory. The style is repetitive and the electrical one-line diagrams are merely stick figures. In that sense it could prove useful to a beginner who wants to discover how DG systems are operated, whether in islanding mode or paralleled and connected to the grid. Seasoned power engineers might be better off with a more detailed reference book though.

Not a book for begginers

At the time I bought this book, it was the only one available in my local bookstore. I had a project that required me to write a VxD in less than a month, and having never written a VxD, I hoped that this book would gain me quick and dirty insight into the basics of writting one. I found it extremely difficult to follow with not enough explanations of the basics. It seemed to be written for the x86 expert who had already written numerous other types of drivers. I was forced to reread it numerous times while researching other sources of information so that I could understand. There is too much appendix, and not enough examples. It is also chalked full of little annoying typos. The project presented by the author should have been more verbose in the explanantions - I sure would have appreciated it at the time.

The Authority

Although most of the hunts O'Connor writes about could not be done today because the wild places he hunted are pretty much tame now, he does take us on one adventure after another. This book is better than any of the African hunting volumes I have read to date. It resides in a prominent position next to my "reading" chair and fireplace. This is THE classic everyone talks about when they mention classics. If you are lucky enough to find one in good shape, count your blessings and enjoy it. I miss the days when writer's like O'Connor and Carmichael wrote real and objective stories.

I subscribe to none of the modern outdoor magazines. Modern hunting writers write advertising copy pretty much. I prefer to read real stories from men who have actually done that and who are not trying to sell you something you really didn't need to hunt. Alas, we can only find that now in old books.
