About the Author

Ginny Wacker Guido has been active in legal and ethical issues in nursing for the past 30 years. She developed an interest in this area of nursing when teaching undergraduate nursing students in Houston, Texas, and this excitement for further knowledge and understanding of this content area encouraged her to pursue a doctor of jurisprudence degree. Over the years, she has attended multiple workshops and conferences, updating and expanding her knowledge base regarding both the legal and ethical aspects of nursing practice. Dr Guido also continues to publish and present on legal and ethical issues with special emphasis in a variety of clinical practice settings. She remains active in nursing education and is currently employed as the Regional Director for Nursing and Assistant Dean, College of Nursing, Washington State University Vancouver.

Good book missing pages needed for assignment

This is being used as a textbook for a graduate class. It is written on an interesting manner with lots of case studies.

Now that I am at the end of the course, I see the last 2 chapters are missing. Others complained chapter 3 was missing, which I have, but chapters 21 & 22 are missing. I bought 2 versions, the 2014 and the 2010 both have the same missing chapters. i need these chapters to complete my assignment.

About the Author

Rob Burgess is a scientist, entrepreneur, businessman, and author who switched scientific disciplines in 2006 at the age of 38 to take a chance on nanotechnology. It changed his life forever. He has held numerous academic and industry-related positions, including research fellow at the University of California, San Diego; founding scientist at Lexicon Genetics Incorporated; founder and president at Genome Biosciences Incorporated; vice president, research and development, at Zyvex Corporation; and vice president, business development, at Stem Cell Sciences, LLC. He is currently founder, chairman, and president at Medical Nanotechnologies Incorporated and an adjunct professor in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of Texas, Dallas. He holds a bachelor of arts in biochemistry from the University of Texas, Austin, and a Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston.

Like most people absorbed into this modern materialistic culture, when I first heard about horary astrology, my reaction was - "for God's sake girl, do I look like a damned fool, I'd sooner believe the earth was flat and pigs can fly".

This book proved me COMPLETELY wrong, and my appreciation of God and the mystery of the cosmos was all the better for it.

I was a total novice when i finally picked up this book at the incessant pestering of my girlfriend. She had showed me some creepily accurate information about things she in no possible way had direct knowledge of, about 85% correct in her assessment. So I was intrigued. Within two weeks, one day at a time, The Horary Textbook opened my mind to an option in life I had never, ever thought to be possible. And John Frawley presented the material in a way that a totally disbelieving (even aggressively disbelieving) self-absorbed "rationalist" could easily test the veracity of this oh-so-simple art. And by God, it worked. 85% of the time.

I'd like the reader to ponder that for a minute. Within two weeks, a total fool like me was able to make those creepily accurate predictions (85% of the time) my girlfriend used to freak me out with. And all based on clear, concise, straighforward rules that John Frawley lays out in a fun, easy-to-understand, and immediately-applicable way. The insights provided by horary is not just for predictions, but most helpful for me is that it gives a clear insight into what's BEHIND a problem or issue that I had to deal with (which often proved to be spot-on), and gave me a tool to help focus my decisions and options in life, so that i may, God willing, pick the right one.

Think about that.

I am totally, completely blown away by this discovery. Which is why I am sharing this review with readers and astrology-novices so passionately. The 5-stars is both for John Frawley's book, which was an excellent read and chock-full of lucid instructions and examples, and for horary in general. Just amazing.

And, just a note to Frawley and other writers out there if I may, this book (well, horary as explained by this superb book), has reaffirmed my faith in God/Allah/Yahweh/The Prime Mover/(insert deity here). It has impressed the fact that indeed the Universe was built by a incomparably omni-everything The One, and that she, this Universe, is structured and beautiful. No religion, as practiced in today's confused culture, ever did that for me.

I need some more stars

Any student of any form of astrology needs to have John Frawley's books in their libraries. John's astrology is developed strictly from the Arabic/European tradition and is centered around the work of William Lily. The source material, however, is not what makes this (or any of his others) a great book, or what makes John a great astrology teacher.

John's clarity, focus, philosophical integrity and humor make his work stand out. He is able to present the "same 'ol stuff" in such a way that it seems fresh and exciting. His books are not so much about astrology as they are about how to be a good, reliable astrologer.

His work has upped the ante for astrological writing, and by the time his books on the fixed stars and natal astrology hit the market, certain publishers may have to redefine their writer's guidelines. I think this is a good thing, because some of them need to admit that they consider almost anything acceptable if it has a good title and something new in it, and others need to send their editors to English classes.

I don't agree with all of his viewpoints, but hey, that's OK: that's why Plato wrote dialogs rather than monologues. It makes me feel good to know that there are fellow astrologers like John out there, because his is the kind of work that honors the profession and the tradition.

A must for serious students.

John Frawley is one of the most outstanding contemporary astrologers employing traditional astrology in modern time. This book acts as an introductory text on Horary Astrology. Reading this book will help students to enjoy Lilly's Christian Astrology better. Many concepts have been re-discovered in this book, such as Antiscia, Contrantiscia and Receptions. This book does not cover the same area as C.A. does. Nevertheless, it does provide some useful informations such as the House for primary school, university, the phone-calls, TV, sport betting and so on. I find that some areas are not covered enough. For example, only half the page is contributed to Almuten. Robert Zoller uses one whole audio tape to explain Almuten. Using astrology to predict future is nothing new amongst Chinese astrologers. Getting a western astrologer to write a book in prediction is a big step forward.

It is a very good book to learn the subject. However the problems in the exercise are diverse with challenging problems. Regarding the service of the seller, they are good and the book was delivered in time.

A standard text, but not because it's superior.

This text is something of a standard in statistics departments, but it does have one big drawback.

That drawback is this: the text is very terse, nearly opaque at times. There aren't many examples given for each concept, so the problems can be quite difficult. You'll be very much at the mercy of your teacher and class discussions/notes to actually understand most of the material. If I'd had to teach this subject to myself, using only this book, I wouldn't have got very far.

Fortunately, there's a legitimate, freely-available set of solutions for at least some of the problems, in .pdf format. Furthermore, most of the solutions are worked out in enough detail to be helpful to the beginner. There are a few errors (isn't this so with every solutions manual?), but overall it's an invaluable companion to the text.
